Ms. Leticia Garcia, Principal

Leticia Garcia joined the Íæż½ã½ã public schools 18 years ago.  She served as an assistant principal at the Middle School, Fifth Avenue School and South Country School.  Ms. Garcia earned both her BS and her MA from Adelphi University.  She received her second MS in School Administration from the College of New Rochelle.  Her background in education and years of experience as both an early childhood educator and an administrator at various levels have provided her with essential skills needed to lead Mary G. Mr. Duncan MacDougal, Assistant Principal

Duncan MacDougal, a graduate of Íæż½ã½ã High School’s class of 2001, taught English in the Íæż½ã½ã School Íæż½ã½ã for fourteen years before becoming a Íæż½ã½ã administrator. An experienced educator, Mr. MacDougal has presented at NCTE’s Annual Conference (2012), LILAC’s Annual Conference (2019 & 2020), and Molloy College’s Suffolk Center (2018) discussing innovative instructional practices, educational technologies, and building relationships during periods of remote instruction. In the summer of 2020, Mr. MacDougal oversaw the Íæż½ã½ã School Íæż½ã½ã’s first ever Virtual Summer School Program, helping a number of students to earn high school diplomas despite COVID lockdowns and disruptions to in-person learning. Mr. MacDougal received his School Íæż½ã½ã Leader and School Building Leader certifications through Stony Brook University’s Educational Leadership Program in 2021, and since then has worked as Assistant Principal of Mary G. Clarkson School, Fifth Avenue School, and South Country School. Mr. MacDougal is passionate about the ways that literacy development helps to bolster students’ power of expression and self discovery. He is also a proud father and semi-decent guitar player.
